Sarajevo City Tour
Visit Sarajevo, the leading political, social and cultural center of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a prominent center of culture in the Balkans. An Olympic town since 1984., when the 14th winter games were held in this Balkan jewel.
We’ll take you on a tour that will show you Sarajevo as it was in the 15th century, to the city it is today. This journey full of surprises will present you what it was like to live in Sarajevo until the 90s, and after ’95, when the Balkan war ended.
Due to its long and rich history of religious and cultural variety, Sarajevo is sometimes called the “Jerusalem of Europe” or “Jerusalem of the Balkans”. It was until the late 20th century the only major European city to have a mosque, a Catholic church, Orthodox church an Synagogue within the same neighborhood. A regional center of education, the city is also home to the Balkans’ first institution of tertiary education which is the Islamic polytechnic called Saraybosna Osmanly Mederese, today a part of the University of Sarajevo.
